Online Bookings Of The Jawa Motorcycles To Close From Tomorrow
Classic Legends, a Mahindra owned subsidiary has announced that it'll be closing online bookings at midnight, 25 December 2018. The company has also announced that its motorcycles are now sold out till September 2019. Jawa not disclose any details about the booking numbers and booking through dealerships.
Jawa was initially launched the three model only with single-channel ABS such as the Jawa, Jawa 42 and a factory custom bobber called the Perak and it priced Rs 1.64 lakh, 1.55 lakh and 1.89 lakh, respectively (All prices ex-showroom Delhi). Later, Jawa launched the dual-channel ABS versions of the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two on high demand. These versions premium of Rs 8,942 over their single-channel ABS variants.
Mechanically, Jawa and Jawa 42 powered by Mahindra Mojo-derived 293cc, BSVI-compliant, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor delivers the power of 27bhp and 28Nm of peak torque. And, this engine mated to six speed manual transmission. On other hand, The Perak is powered by 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor delivers the power of 30bhp and 31Nm of peak torque.
The single-channel ABS variant of the Jawa and Jawa 42 gets 280mm disc brake in front with ABS while the rear runs a conventional 153mm drum brake. And these models have seat height of 765mm and a kerb weight of just 170kg. The rear disc brake spec details of Dual-channel ABS variant were not revealed officially. The factory custom bobber, the Perak additionally gets swingarm, monoshock, disk brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS and a slightly fatter Pirelli tyres.
Speaking about this unprecedented development, Anupam Thareja, Co-Founder, Classic Legends Pvt Ltd. said, “With such a tremendous response, it is my duty to inform the customers that we are sold out till September 2019 based on the current online bookings. Authenticity and honesty have been the hallmark of the brand. With such a large booking order, Jawa believes it is only fair to announce the waiting period for those with confirmed bookings. The current waiting period for online bookings already extends till September 2019 however the deliveries will start from March 2019 as per the booking sequence.”
Speaking on the network strategy, Anupam added, “Given the continued demand for bookings, all dealerships will be open for test rides and we would encourage our buyers to come experience the Jawas and build a relationship with us. While, the dealerships will continue to take bookings for deliveries beyond September, we believe it was our responsibility to transparently set delivery expectations for bookings done at dealerships. We invite customers to walk into our showrooms for further bookings.”
