Volkswagen launched the eighth generation Passat again in India with starting price of Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The Volkswagen Passat is launched in India after over 4 years. The seventh generation model was discontinued from the Indian market in 2013 because of low sales. And this model now available in two variants. 

Variant wise price details:

• VW Passat Comfortline: Rs 29.99 lakh 
• VW Passat Highline: Rs 32.99 lakh 

This model not have huge change in exterior, it gets some small cosmetic updates. In interior, this model have some reasonable updates. This model have lot of comfort accessories such as 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, 9 airbags (segment-first), a 360-degree camera display, ESP, ABS, Hill Start Assist, Auto hold and tire pressure monitoring system, electrically adjustable front seats, all-leather upholstery, hands-free parking andetc, 

Mechanically, this model initially comes with 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. The engine delivers out 177PS of max power and 350Nm of peak torque. And this model expect to come with petrol engine option early next year. And this model gives tough competition to reveals like Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and the Honda Accord.
