Toyot introduced the renowned and much awaited luxury brand Lexus in India. Toyota sell the Luxury cars world wide in Lexus brand since 1989. The company has launched three models, RX 450h, ES 300h and LX 450d, in India. While the RX 450h has two variants and other models have one variant each.

RX 450h is a hybrid powered SUV. RX 450h Luxury launchd with the price of Rs 1.07 crore and RX 450h F-Sport launched with price of Rs 1.09 crore. This model have 3.5-litre V6 with VVT-i engine and 650V A/C permanent magnet synchronous motor. The petrol engine alone pumps out 262PS of power and 335Nm of torque. The electric motor, on the other hand, generates 68PS of power and 139Nm of torque. As a result, the total power output is capped at 310PS/361Nm. The power is transfered to all four wheels via e-CVT (Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission) unit.

The ES 300h is a hybrid powered luxury sedan. It shares platform with the Toyota Camry. This model have 2.5-litre engine and high-output electric motor. The petrol engine alone pumps out 160PS of power and 233Nm of torque. The electric motor, on the other hand, generates 143PS of power and 270Nm of torque. The power is transfered to front wheels via e-CVT Transmission unit. This model claim fuel-efficiency figures of 17kmpl.

The LX 450d is the biggest Lexus that has gone on sale in India. It shares platform with the Toyota Land Cruiser. It is powered by a turbocharged 4.5-litre diesel engine that produce 270PS of power and 650Nm of torque. The power is transfered to all four wheels via six-speed automatic Transmission unit. At present, Lexus doesn’t have any specific showroom anywhere in India, but soon will start.
