Land Rover Defender Launched In India With Starting Price Of Rs 69.99 Lakh
Land Rover has finally launched the latest iteration of its off-roader, the 2020 Defender in India for a starting price of Rs 69.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The iconic off-roader is available in both 90 (three-door) and 110 (five-door) body styles across five variants - Base, S, SE, HSE and First Edition. Bookings have already commenced and deliveries will expect to begin from August 2020. This model was first revealed in 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 2020 Defender get the lot of design elemnts from its predecessor such as the squared-off wheel arches, high-set bonnet, and even the Alpine windows. This model gets the lot of latest features like Matrix LED headlights with DRLs, 20-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, squared-off LED taillights, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, 10-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 700W Meridian sound system and more,. The Land Rover Defender’s interiors also retaining the the boxy styling like outer design.
The 2020 Defender shares its platform with the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Discovery. The new 2020 Defender developed in D7x- monocoque platform unlike the conventional body-on-frame chassis on its predecessor. This model available with a choice of four accessory packs: Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban. These packs come with extra features such as electronic winches, rooftop tents and more. This model has 291mm of ground clearance along with an approach, breakover and departure angle of 38, 28 and 40 degrees, respectively. Land Rover claims a water-wading capacity of 900mm for the new Defender.
The 2020 Defender is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 300PS of power and 400Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox along with all-wheel-drive system.
